Video trimming questions
Does this upload my video?
No. Reading, previewing, trimming, and creating the download happen locally in your browser. Your video is never sent to a processing server.
Does trimming change the quality?
This tool re-encodes your selected section to make precise cuts, using high-quality H.264 video and AAC audio. Re-encoding can change the picture and sound, and the output is not guaranteed to be smaller than the original. The original file is never changed.
Which browsers and formats work?
Use a current desktop browser with WebCodecs and H.264 encoding support. Videos with audio also require AAC encoding support. Try the latest Chrome or Edge; codec support depends on your device. MP4, MOV, and WebM are accepted when their codecs are supported. HDR video, sources over 120 fps, and mobile browsers are not supported in this version.
Will my clip keep its sound?
Yes, if your original has audio. We include the primary audio track and convert it to stereo AAC. If the browser cannot preserve sound, we stop and show a message. Additional audio tracks, subtitles, and metadata are not carried over.
Can I remove a section from the middle?
This version keeps one continuous section between your chosen start and end. It does not join clips or remove multiple sections.
Why are there limits?
Your device processes the video and holds the output in memory. Input and output files are limited to 250 MB, and source videos to 10 minutes and 4K. Performance depends on your browser and hardware. You can cancel processing at any time.
